Ludhiana, 03 October (H S KITTY 9814060516) – Under the guidelines of Sports Department of Punjab Government and under the able guidance of District Administration Sports Watan Punjab on the fourth day of 2023 Season-2 of Sports Watan Punjab by Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Smt. Surbhi Malik to the players attending athletics competitions at local Punjab Agriculture University Gave information about the government’s sports policy and also encouraged the players.

Deputy Commissioner Smt Malik said that under the guidelines of Punjab Government the district administration is committed to providing the best sporting facilities for players so that our young players can hit big wrestles at the national and international level.

District Sports Officer Mr. Rupinder Singh, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma Athletics Coach, Mr. Prem Kumar Gymnastics Coach and Education Department Staff were also present on this occasion.

These 25 district level games are being held in various age groups from September 30, 2023 to October 5, 2023. The sports include athletics, basketball, badminton, boxing, chess, football, gatka, hockey, handball, judo, kick boxing, Kabaddi national, Kabaddi circle, khoh-khoh, lawn tennis, netball, powerlifting, shooting, softball, swimming, table tennis, volleyball shooting, volleyball smashing, weightlifting and wrestling competitions.

District Sports Officer Shri Rupinder Singh encouraged the players by visiting various playgrounds and distributed medals to the players and other arrangements were also reviewed.

Sukhwinder singh got first position,

Kuldeep singh got second position and Daljit singh got third position in 3000 meter race walk in 41 to 55 age group event held at Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana, Simranjit singh got first place in event long jump, Harvinder singh got second place And sudagar singh got third position,ramlal first place manjinder singh second and satnam singh third position in event 800 meters. Gurkomal Singh Gill got first place, Ranjot got second place, Dilpreet Singh got third and Nipun got fourth place in the 800 meters final of age group 21-30 years.

Josh Iqbal Singh secured second position in 400 meters hurdle in age group under-17 years boys. Naveen Kumar got first place in 200 meters Jasnoor Singh second Himanshu Chaudhary got third place and Mehtab Singh got fourth place. Akrshitpratap singh got first place, Manjot singh got second place, Taranjot singh 3rd and Mehtab singh got fourth place in long jump. Devesh Khatak got first position, Navjot Singh second and Gurshan Singh third position in disc throw competitions.

Jharkhar team defeated Rampura team by 7-6 in under-14 boys hockey matches held at Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana, Malwa club team defeated Chachrari team by 5-0, age group under-17 girls D. A. V. Club T beat Kilaraipur team 2-1, village Jalaldiwal T team beat village boys team 1-0.

Softball – U-17 boys in S. S. S. School qasabad first position s. S. S. School chakar second place, Guru Nanak school Janata Nagar first place and Dasmes school second place.

Badminton – Under-21 girls Arunima Paul got first position, Sahajpreet Kaur got second position and Chuninda Sharma got third position.

Handball – Government High School Jawdi Kalan team defeated Jesus Sacred Heart School team by 12-04 points. Bhundri team Blossom School Jagraon defeated Bhundri team by 10-05, Punjab Agriculture University team defeated JNVS by 2-0, B. V. Em. Kichlu Nagar first and Swami Roop Chand second position, Inter National Public School first position and B. C. Em. Club Second Position, Under-14 Government High School Jawadi Kalan team defeated Jesus Sacred Heart School team by 12-04.
