DMC&H Orthopaedics Team Holds Free Rural Camp in Buthari, Treats 100+ Patients

Ludhiana (Harminder Singh Kitty )Buthari | The Department of Orthopaedics at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H) extended its healing touch to the village of Buthari this week, conducting a free medical camp that brought specialist care directly to rural doorsteps.

Led by Dr Pankaj Mohindra, Professor of Orthopaedics, and coordinated by Dr Surinder Pal Singh, Associate Professor of Community Medicine, the multidisciplinary team examined more than 100 villagers, offering on‑the‑spot assessments for joint ailments and other orthopaedic concerns. Patients received complimentary medications and personalised advice on early detection and management of musculoskeletal disorders.

Residents praised the initiative, noting that access to orthopaedic expertise is often limited in remote areas. DMC&H reiterated its commitment to bridging that gap: “Our goal is to ensure quality healthcare reaches every corner of Punjab,” Dr Mohindra said, adding that similar outreach programmes are planned in neighbouring villages.

The camp drew support from resident doctors, nursing staff and volunteers, underscoring DMC&H’s mission to combine clinical excellence with community service.
