“Healing hands, helping hearts – CMC brings hope to flood-hit Punjab.”
Ludhiana, September 6, 2025 –( Punjabi Head Line HARMINDER SINGH KITTY) Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMC) Ludhiana, in collaboration with the Panther Division of the Indian Army under Operation “RAHAT”, organized a Flood Relief Medical Camp at Islampur village, District Gurdaspur. The initiative aimed to provide immediate medical care and humanitarian support to families affected by the devastating floods.
Villagers rescued from flood-affected areas were brought to the camp where 225 people received medical treatment, medicines, dry rations, and sanitary napkins.
The relief team was led by Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC Ludhiana, and included:

In addition, Dr. William Bhatti and Dr. Subhash Lazarus, alumnus of CMC (Batch of 1984) and currently serving at Dhariwal Mission Hospital, braved heavy rains to reach Chauntra village on the Indo-Pak border along the banks of the Ravi River. Escorted by the Indian Army in boats, they provided medical aid and ration supplies to villagers stranded in floodwaters and unable to travel to the camp site.
The smooth execution of the relief camp was made possible through the dedicated arrangements by Dr. Allen Joseph, Medical Superintendent, and Mrs. Neomi, Chief Pharmacist.
CMC Ludhiana has announced plans to organize more such relief camps in flood-affected regions. The institution has also appealed to its alumni, faculty, staff, and well-wishers for donations and support to strengthen its ongoing flood relief campaign.
