CMCH Alumnus Dr. Amit Michael Delivers Guest Lecture on Structural Heart Interventions

“Advancing Cardiac Care with Contemporary Strategies”

Ludhiana, September 18, 2025 – Punjabiheadline.(H S KITTY)     Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMCH), Ludhiana, hosted a distinguished guest lecture in the Hospital Auditorium by Dr. Amit Michael, CMCH alumnus (MBBS Batch of 1996) and renowned Interventional Cardiologist from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.

The lecture, titled “Contemporary Strategies in Structural Heart Interventions”, was part of the clinical grand rounds session, moderated by Dr. Gurbhej Singh, Head of the Department of Cardiology.

The program began with an introduction by Dr. Abhilasha Williams, Vice Principal CMC, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Gurbhej Singh. Dr. Michael shared insights into the latest advances in structural cardiology, particularly cutting-edge technologies for treating complex structural heart diseases such as cardiac valve dysfunction.

The session was attended by the administration, faculty, staff, and students, and provided an in-depth understanding of contemporary interventional cardiology practices.

Following the lecture, Dr. William Bhatti, Honorable Director of CMC & Hospital, along with Dr. Mary John, Professor & Head of Medicine, felicitated Dr. Michael and expressed gratitude for his contribution. They also commended the Cardiology Department at CMCH, which remains one of the few centers in North India performing advanced and challenging structural heart interventions.

During his visit, Dr. Michael also interacted with faculty, residents, and students, and toured various departments including the Renovated Eye OPD, Ross Hostel, and the CMCL Heritage Center, appreciating the ongoing work at the institution.
