New Delhi: As debate continues around the deployment of indigenous Mudhol Hounds in the Border Security Force (BSF), Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s repeated emphasis on adopting and encouraging Indian dog breeds has brought renewed attention to the historic hound from Karnataka.
In earlier addresses and public references, PM Modi had encouraged citizens and government agencies to support local canine breeds under the larger vision of “Vocal for Local” and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Mudhol Hound—known for its speed, sharp senses, and heat endurance—has emerged as one of the key beneficiaries of this national focus.
