“From Myths to Medicine – CMC’s Nursing Force Becomes the Face of Cosmetic Surgery Awareness!”
Ludhiana, June 14:(Harminder Singh Kitty) The Department of Plastic Surgery at Christian Medical College (CMC) Hospital, Ludhiana, organized an informative and interactive session titled “Awareness on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery” to educate and empower healthcare support staff, especially nursing professionals, about the growing field of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.
Dr. Pinki Pargal, Professor and Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, led the session and emphasized the difference between reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, underscoring the safe and scientifically proven options available at CMC Hospital.
She shared that both surgical and non-surgical cosmetic treatments are performed at CMC, including:
Facial rejuvenation with Fillers, Botox, Threads & Microneedling (Mesococktails)
Hair rejuvenation through PRP, GFC, Exosomes and Hair Transplants
Body Contouring, Liposuction, Gynaecomastia correction, and Fat Grafting
Breast Surgeries (Reduction, Augmentation, Lifts)
Vaginal Rejuvenation and Eye Rejuvenation (Blepharoplasty)
Dr. Pargal appreciated the active involvement of the nursing workforce, calling them the “strong pillar” of hospital operations. She expressed special thanks to Nursing Superintendent Sister Sangeeta Nichols for mobilizing a large number of female staff, including ward in-charges, nursing staff, and hospital helpers.
The nursing staff participated with great enthusiasm, busting myths and exploring evidence-based cosmetic procedures. The department encouraged attendees to share the knowledge gained with their families and communities to promote informed decisions and patient safety.
Joining Dr. Pargal were Dr. Pallavi Nigam and Dr. Noopur Bansal, Assistant Professors in the department, who also interacted with the staff during the session.
