“Empowering Nurses, Safeguarding Patients.”

The Department of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMCH), Ludhiana, organized a Quiz Program on Patient Safety at the Hospital Auditorium to mark World Patient Safety Day 2025.
This year’s observance was held under the theme “Nursing Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety” with the sub-theme “From Standards to Practice: Enhancing Patient Safety through Nursing Excellence.”
The quiz was conducted exclusively for nursing staff with the aim of enhancing awareness, refreshing knowledge, and reinforcing commitment towards safe nursing practices. Nursing In-charges, senior nurses, and staff nurses from various departments participated with great enthusiasm, making the event highly interactive and educational.
The program was graced by Dr. Alen Joseph, Medical Superintendent, CMCH, as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of patient safety and praised the nursing staff for being the backbone of quality care and the first line of defence in preventing patient harm.
Ms. Kamla Jose, Manager HR, appreciated the initiative, noting that such programs not only improve patient care but also contribute to the professional growth and confidence of nurses.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sangeeta Nichols, Nursing Superintendent, said the Quiz was not just about testing knowledge but also about learning together, refreshing practices, and reinforcing that patient safety begins with nurses at the bedside. She encouraged all participants to approach the quiz with enthusiasm, teamwork, and a spirit of excellence.
The event reflected the Nursing Department’s dedication to continuous learning, teamwork, and excellence in patient care. It served as a reminder that nursing excellence is central to patient safety and that empowered nurses ensure safer healthcare for all.
