The Department of Neurology, Christian Medical College Ludhiana, in collaboration with the F.C. Eggleston Trust, successfully hosted the 5th Professor F.C. Eggleston Oration โ a tribute to one of North Indiaโs most eminent surgical educators, Professor Forest Cary Eggleston.
This yearโs prestigious oration was delivered by Professor Dr. Michael D. Hill, a leading neurologist from the University of Calgary, Canada, President of the Canadian Neurological Association, and an internationally acclaimed authority in stroke research. His lecture, โStroke Care: From Bedside to Bench and Back,โ provided deep insights into cutting-edge innovations, research advancements, and the evolving global landscape of stroke care.

A major highlight was the International Scientific CME, attended by more than 200 participants, including Punjab government doctors, nurses, and medical experts from across India. The program featured multiple national and international speakers, a hands-on Mechanical Thrombectomy Workshop, and a dedicated Stroke Nursing Training Session that empowered 30 government hospital nurses with essential, practical skills.
This landmark event reaffirmed CMC Ludhianaโs deep commitment to advancing stroke research, strengthening capacity building, and upholding the visionary legacy of Professor Eggleston.
The academic engagements continued as the visiting Canadian team and the CMC Advanced Stroke Centre team met the Honourable Health Minister of Punjab, Dr. Balbir Singh, followed by guest lectures at PGIMER Chandigarh and SGPGI Lucknow, further expanding collaborative stroke-care initiatives across North India.
