Marking the occasion of National Vaccination Day, the Department of Child Health Nursing at the Army College of Nursing organized an enlightening academic session on 20th March 2026. The highlight of the event was a guest lecture delivered by Dr. Ruby Singh, Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Christian Medical College & Hospital.
The session, themed “Immunisation for all is humanly possible,” aimed to raise awareness among nursing students and deepen their understanding of vaccination and its crucial role in public health.
The event commenced with the formal unveiling of the theme by Charlotte Ranadive, Principal ACN, along with Jasbir Singh, Registrar ACN, and Dr. Priya Sharma, Vice Principal ACN, in the presence of the guest speaker.
During her lecture, Dr. Ruby Singh shared expert insights on the importance of immunisation, elaborating on the need and types of vaccines, the concept of immunity, and key principles of immunisation. She also emphasized the critical role of timely reporting of AEFIs (Adverse Events Following Immunization), ensuring safe and effective vaccination practices.
The session was highly interactive, engaging nursing students in meaningful discussions. The administration also acknowledged and appreciated the significant contribution of Christian Medical College & Hospital in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to the community.
The event concluded on a note of inspiration, reinforcing the vital role of healthcare professionals in achieving universal immunisation coverage.
