Dr. Gurvinder Kaur serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana. With over 22 years of teaching experience, she completed her MBBS from DMC&H in 1999, earning the Best Graduate Award, and her MS in Ophthalmology from Government Medical College, Patiala, in 2003. Dr. Kaur has specialized training in phacoemulsification, pediatric ophthalmology, and strabismus, with expertise in cataract surgeries, glaucoma, and pediatric ophthalmology. She is actively involved in medical education and has contributed to over 30 publications and 60 presentations.

The Department of Ophthalmology at DMC&H, established in 1968, offers comprehensive eye care services, including outpatient consultations, surgical interventions, and specialized treatments for various eye conditions. The department is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, providing services such as phacoemulsification for cataract surgeries, vitreo-retinal surgeries, corneal transplants, glaucoma surgeries, and specialized clinics for conditions like ARMD and diabetic retinopathy. The department also runs an eye bank and organizes monthly free eye camps.

Under Dr. Kaur’s leadership, the department continues to advance in providing exceptional eye care and contributing to the field through education and community services.
