“Precision in Compatibility – A New Era for Transplant Success Begins at DMC&H!”
Ludhiana Punjabheadline(HS kitty) The Department of Pathology at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana, marked a significant milestone today with the inauguration of a cutting-edge CDC (Complement-Dependent Cytotoxicity) Crossmatch and Flow Crossmatch testing facility. These advanced diagnostic tools represent a transformative step in kidney transplant care by ensuring highly accurate donor-recipient compatibility and reducing the risk of organ rejection.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Bipin Gupta, Secretary, Managing Society, DMC&H, and Shri Mukesh Verma Ji, Treasurer, in the presence of prominent dignitaries including Dr. GS Wander (Principal), Dr. Sandeep Kaushal (Dean Academics), Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Dr. Ashwani K Chaudhary, Dr. Bishav Mohan (Chief Cardiologist), Dr. Ashima Taneja (Additional Medical Superintendent), and Dr. Bhavna Garg, Professor & Head of Pathology, along with department faculty, residents, and staff.
Speaking at the event, Shri Bipin Gupta emphasized DMC&H’s ongoing commitment to patient-centric innovation and the integration of world-class diagnostic technologies to deliver superior healthcare.
Dr. Bhavna Garg highlighted the clinical significance of the new facility, noting that CDC and Flow Crossmatch tests offer enhanced sensitivity, capable of detecting minute antibody responses that conventional methods might miss. This precision allows clinicians to make informed, timely decisions, thereby improving transplant success rates and patient safety. She stressed that end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, especially those awaiting cadaveric kidney transplants, will greatly benefit from the rapid turnaround time and accuracy of these tests.
With this advancement, DMC&H has taken a leap forward in transplant immunology, setting a benchmark in diagnostic excellence and reinforcing its mission of improving lives through scientific innovation and compassionate care.
