CMC Ludhiana Nursing Department Hosts CNE on “Nursing Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety”

Ludhiana, September 30, 2025:(Punjabi Headline HS KITTY)  The Department of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, organized a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) program on “Nursing Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety” with the sub-theme “From Standards to Practice: Enhancing Patient Safety through Nursing Excellence” at the Hospital Auditorium.

The program aimed to strengthen nurses’ skills, provide practical insights, and inspire safe, high-quality care delivery. Nursing Superintendent Ms. Sangeeta Nichols highlighted that such initiatives are vital in shaping competent and compassionate nursing practice

The event began with a welcome address by Deputy Nursing Superintendent Sis. Mizrab Chaudhary, followed by a floral welcome to dignitaries. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Nursing Superintendent Sis. Anupama and a group photograph of participants.

Director Dr. William Bhatti, Chief Guest, emphasized that “patient safety is central to quality care” and appreciated the role of nurses in implementing safe practices. Medical Superintendent Dr. Allen Joseph, Guest of Honour, underlined that teamwork and continuous education are essential in fostering a culture of patient safety

The event witnessed the participation of 150 nurses, supervisors, and in-charges. In recognition of their commitment, certificates of recognition were awarded to 36 nurses who had actively participated in the Patient Safety Quiz conducted on September 26, 2025.

The scientific sessions featured distinguished speakers—Dr. Reena Jairus, Dr. Joseph John, Dr. Gurbhej Singh, Dr. Sameer, Ms. Meghala, and Ms. Kamla Jose. They emphasized that patient safety requires:

Evidence-based nursing practices

Interdisciplinary collaboration

Effective reporting mechanisms

Continuous competency assessment

Strong and ethical nursing leadership


The program concluded on a high note, inspiring nurses to translate standards into practice and uphold excellence in patient safety.
