Ludhiana, Punjabiheadline:(Harminder Singh kitty) Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMC), Ludhiana, hosted a distinguished academic session on the topic “Vascular Intervention in India,” delivered by Dr. Narendra Nath Khanna, one of India’s most renowned interventional cardiologists and medical innovators.
Dr. Khanna, who currently serves as Senior Consultant, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, and Advisor to the Apollo Group, is internationally recognized for pioneering endovascular and interventional cardiac procedures in India. His extensive career spans over three decades of clinical excellence, academic leadership, and medical innovation.
During his talk, Dr. Khanna highlighted the evolution of vascular intervention in India, sharing his experience with cutting-edge techniques such as Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR), Bioresorbable Scaffold Systems, AI-driven cardiovascular risk prediction, and regenerative stem cell therapy for limb ischemia. He also discussed India’s growing role in global cardiovascular research and innovation

Dr. Khanna’s illustrious credentials include multiple Fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians (London, Glasgow, Edinburgh) and the American College of Cardiology (FACC). He has served as President of the Indian College of Cardiology (2018-19) and Chairman of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists (ISEVS – Indian Chapter).
With over 206 publications, 62 book chapters, and 25,000+ cardiac catheterizations, Dr. Khanna’s contributions have transformed cardiovascular medicine both in India and globally. His humanitarian outreach includes conducting free rural heart check-up camps across Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, benefiting over 50,000 patients.
