Ludhiana, February 2025 —punjabiheadline(HS KITTY) The 6th Convocation of the National Medical Commission (NMC) was successfully held at the NMC Nodal Centre, Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, honouring 50 doctors who completed the Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME). Doctors from Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab received their certificates during the ceremony.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sharma, Controller of Examination, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, graced the event as Chief Guest and awarded the certificates. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the progress of medical examinations in India, noting that advanced training in assessment is shaping more competent medical educators.
The ceremony began with a formal welcome, as Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC Ludhiana, introduced the Chief Guest, followed by greetings extended to all attendees by Dr. Jeyaraj Pandian, Principal, CMC.
Providing insight into the programme, Dr. Dinesh Badyal, Vice Principal (Medical Education) & Convener, NMC Nodal Centre, shared that ACME is a 6-month structured course, with two batches trained every year.
Dr. Anjali Jain, Co-convener & Incharge ACME, announced that alongside the convocation, a CME workshop on Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) was conducted focusing on Competency-Based Medical Education and Digital OSCEs. A live digital platform was used for hands-on training where participants acted as examiners and evaluated students using checklists on mobile/tablet interfaces.
The workshop was led by expert faculty members — Dr. Badyal, Dr. Anjali Jain, Dr. Pamela Jeyaraj, Dr. Christina George, and Dr. Ajay Kumar.
In addition, ten dental students were honoured for achieving distinction in pharmacology, adding to the pride of the occasion.
