The Department of Community Medicine at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital successfully organized a Tree Plantation Drive for the MBBS Batch 2025 on March 18, 2026, at Village Kalakh. The initiative was conducted as part of the Family Adoption Programme under the guidelines of the National Medical Commission curriculum.
The drive was led by Dr. Anurag Chaudhary, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members of the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry. The event also saw active involvement and support from respected members of the village Panchayat, strengthening community collaboration.
The programme was graced by Guest of Honor Sh. Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, whose commitment to environmentally sustainable practices served as a source of inspiration for both students and the local residents. Sh. Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, and Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, were also present and extended their support to the initiative.
During the drive, a total of 200 high-breed Foxtail Palm plants were planted, reflecting the institution’s strong commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
In his message, Dr. G. S. Wander, Principal of DMC&H, emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping future healthcare professionals into compassionate and socially responsible individuals. He highlighted the importance of encouraging students to actively contribute not only to patient care but also to the well-being of society and the environment.
The event concluded with a shared sense of responsibility and motivation among students and faculty to continue working towards a greener and healthier future.
